Dr. Alexander Glätzle is CEO and co-founder of planqc, the company that is developing the first German quantum computer based on neutral atoms. As a quantum physicist with an entrepreneurial spirit, he brings quantum technology from research into practice. After working as a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Oxford and at the Center for Quantum Technologies in Singapore, where he researched ultracold atoms and quantum annealing, he moved to industry in 2018. At a leading consultancy, he developed strategies for the use of quantum computing and blockchain before taking the next step.
Today, Glätzle is driving Europe's quantum revolution with planqc. The company secured a 50-million-euro investment, is developing a 1,000-qubit quantum computer for the Leibniz Supercomputing Center and is building quantum computing power for research and industry. His vision: quantum computers “Made in Europe” that solve real billion-dollar problems.
