Maja Brankovic is deputy editor-in-chief of WirtschaftsWoche and head of the Finance & Real Estate section. Previously, she was head of the Economy and Value section at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung and host of the podcast “F.A.Z. Finanzen und Immobilien”. After finishing school in England, Maja studied economics at the Universities of Mannheim and Copenhagen. She then completed a master's degree in “History and Philosophy of Knowledge” at ETH Zurich, where she also worked in the faculty of history.

She came to journalism in 2014 through an internship at the football magazine "11Freunde". She then worked as a freelance sports and science journalist in Switzerland. In April 2016, she joined the economics team at Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, where she mainly wrote about the economy, free trade and economic research. From 2018 to 2020, she was in charge of the business & economics, money and sports sections of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Woche. From 2019 to 2022, she was responsible for the section "Der Volkswirt" ("The Economist") in the FAZ.

In the summer of 2020, Maja joined the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, where she became head of the business and finance section in 2022. Since November 2023, she has been deputy editor-in-chief and head of the Finance & Real Estate section at WirtschaftsWoche. In her weekly newsletter “Das Beste für Ihr Geld” ("The best for your money"), she also gives advice for your personal finances.
