Michael Schoellhorn is the CEO of Airbus Defence and Space, responsible for the company's defence, space, unmanned air services, and connected intelligence activities.

Previously, he was Airbus Chief Operating Officer (COO) and already a member of the Company’s Executive Committee. Michael joined Airbus in February 2019 from BSH Home Appliances, where he was COO and a Board of Management member.

He has a background in the automotive and consumer electronics industry and served in the German armed forces as an officer and helicopter pilot. He is the president of the German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI e.V.) and is a member of several boards of directors. Michael holds a degree and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and Control Engineering.

European Artificial Intelligence Act (EU AIA)
